South Yarra Clinic operate on a mixed billing policy, whereby new patients are privately billed for their first consultation, following consults will be privately billed unless under 16 years of age, pensioner or concession card holder. Our standard consultation fee is $84 where medicare card holders are entitled to a ~$39 rebate and a long consultation is $122 with a ~$76 rebate. Please note that our specialist services have separate billing. If you would like to know more, please enquire with our friendly administration staff.

Appointments are available 7 days a week, with after hours appointments available on weekdays. Our opening hours are as follows:

  • Monday - Friday: 8:30am - 5:30pm
  • Saturday: 9am - 5pm
  • Sunday: 11am - 4pm
  • Public Holidays: Please enquire

Patients should remember to register with the Department of Human Services so that they are eligible for benefits under the revised Medicare Safety Net. Please refer to the Department of Human Services website for your eligibility and entitlements.

Communication & Results:

Please note this practice does not discuss results via telephone unless stipulated by your practitioner.  Any personal or medical information you may wish to relay to your practitioner can be relayed via our practice nurses.  Your doctor may not return your call.  Messages can be left for your doctor if required and medical staff will respond.  Emails can be forwarded to your practitioner for specific requests via nurses@southyarraclinic.com.au. These enquiries are filtered by nursing but forwarded to doctors when appropriate.

Allied Health and Pathology:

Additional charges may occur for services which are referred by the Dr, please contact the service directly to confirm the cost for fees.

Home Visits:

Our GP’s offer home visit appointments, please enquire at reception for more information or to make a booking.

Recalls & Reminders:

South Yarra Clinic uses an SMS reminder and recall system. This includes appointments for results, women’s health checks, blood pressure, cholesterol and other services offered by the clinic. If you wish to opt out, please make reception aware. PLEASE ENSURE AT ALL TIMES YOUR CONTACT DETAILS ARE UP TO DATE.

If you have received unsatisfactory care and attention and it could not be resolved through contacting the relevant complaint officer in the clinic it your right to complain further via the Health care complaints commission
